                        Ask

            (Written by: Chris Romero)

People spend countless hours in front of screens.

Why, for what purpose?

I really do feel that every day will be my last moment

(We are all mirrors reflecting a current historical moment)

First, with birth came crying

Next is death, our place of final rest

For this view, surely no one can say I was lying

All beliefs are simply nothing more than a guess

It, occurs to be my name, or at least it seems

Everyday occurrences of hurt reoccur to me

A nightmare in place of where you dream

I can’t depict nor explain these images of horrific scenes

Bestowed upon me, by what I do not know

Why I see what I see, when I sleep is beyond me

My thoughts genuinely sincere, my only fear is to grow

If there is an escape from this life, take me and let me be

In the overall scheme of what I have observed from living

We all distort our perceptions to accommodate what society has

Realistically in a state of perpetual madness, I am always giving

Yet the masses are more loony and rambunctious than the devil Taz

While waiting for the storm to pass

I learned how to dance in the rain

Strapped down for ten days while an infant behind glass

I distanced myself from a society which inflicted only pain

Whoever reads this

As sinister as this sounds

If I were to pass away from hell

Know that I finally found

Peace somewhere else

Other than here with myself

"while waiting for the storm to pass, I learned to dance in the rain"

What a beautiful image in such a dark poem....but a great motto to live by!
