No Time to Waste
(Written by: Chris Romero)
No time to waste, I face eternal space
Buds open up, but eyes can’t be wide shut
Flailing and foaming from the mouth with a loud grip of cries
In case someone hears, whose tears coincide in time?
Come and see us perform, we were born to be an artistic display
However furthering my education rendered my creations into dismay
Natives and strangers, our danger is the silencing of tongues
It isn’t over until it’s over; enjoy the ride before our demise makes us one
Stagnant now I am, unable to move.
Paralyzed by obligations that intellects deem we must prove
Dark and gloom are the colors, and no others have I seen
Presented to me in a text that will help me fulfill my dream
So sick of these hard times, and rhymes that go unheard
Pass me by once again and laugh, though understand, my eyes water this curb
Disillusioned by what they perceive, as one who is compelled to the extreme
Are we both not human, are we both not chosen to play for the same team
Settled up the score and now you’re back for more
Don’t feel as guilty in the present, as I had, some time before
But one can’t see things so clearly
After an overdose of heroin, I was nearly
Gone for good, and dead inside, apparent to the cause
The craving coming back from an old friend who comforts my wounds like gauze
Feeling like an angel who’s lost its imagination
Looking for a way to vent or express my art of shear fascination
But I don’t know a way
So I look the other way

The phrase "paralyzed by obligations" is wonderful and so meaningful.
Great post.
